The Office of Community Impact, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (CEDI) supports the recommendations put in place by the CDC & the science of using vaccinations. As future healthcare providers, we encourage you to take the first steps towards caregiving by aiding us in protecting your fellow Health Scholars, the staff members of University Hospitals, & the patients we serve!

To encourage safe practices throughout programming, the Office of Community Impact, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (CEDI) has developed the following COVID-19 plan, which includes policies and procedures that align with University Hospitals' practices. By following these procedures, we hope to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Familiarize Yourself

Health Scholars are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the common symptoms of COVID-19 and monitor for those. If any symptoms should develop, Scholars should stay home, notify a program coordinator, and contact their healthcare provider to seek testing.

Health Scholar Requirements

  • Students must be fully vaccinated, that is, the CDC recommended two vaccines.

  • At this time, masks are not required throughout regular programming. However, UH may have varying policies depending on your specific programming opportunities (e.g., shadowing physicians may require additional PPE precautions)
